Sean’s seat post was struggling to hold in place at the height he needed it set at. We tried out a few different ways to solve the problem and concluded extending the post by 60mm was the best option.
A two part mould was made using the seatpost. 100mm on the existing seat post was then tapered to allow for a scalf joint to the new carbon ( a sandwich of biaxial carbon sheath and unidirectional carbon cloth).
The seat post released from the mould and partially cleaned up ready for testing.
The excess carbon was trimmed off the end of the seat post and it was then painted in matte black with a bespoke cervelo red gloss band
